Krithika Muthukumaran, PhD
I am a freelance medical writer with 10+ years of experience in medical writing, research, and healthcare. I am adept at creating continuing medical education content, sales training, and patient and caregiver training material.
I grew up in Chennai, India, and live in Toronto, Canada. I did my B.Sc. in Microbiology (Minor subjects - Biochemistry, Immunology, and Entomology) in India, my M.Sc. in Molecular Genetics in the U.K., and my Ph.D. in Neuroscience in Canada. I did my postdoctoral fellowship at the University Health Network, Toronto.
After my master's, I worked briefly as a scientist in the R&D department at Biocon, a biopharma company based in India, which manufactures affordable biosimilars and generics.
I am passionate about public health and health equity. During the pandemic, I was the Head of Storytelling at ThriveHire, a public health social enterprise. I created a content strategy, managed student writers, assigned blog topics, and edited blog submissions.
I enjoy cooking, reading fiction, and my morning meditations. As I enjoy volunteering and am passionate about elderly care, I volunteered at an elderly home called Chester Village for a few years before the pandemic.
